OUR AIMS
Overview
Forest Gate CLC aims to raise attainment throughout the
London Borough of Newham, through the innovative use of technology and new
approaches to teaching and learning. Where possible we work across borough boundaries, on local, national and international projects.
In Detail
Forest Gate CLC aims to:
• enhance the opportunities of learners by improving
access to, and use of, the latest education technology.
• improve attainment levels through the use of this technology.
• improve retention and progression, reduce truancy and improve employment
prospects.
• act as test beds for innovation and new ways of teaching and learning.
• deliver services and outreach support for a wider network of local and partner
schools.
• cascade best practice amongst the local network of schools.
• link with other facilities including, specialist schools and other centres of
learning.
• offer opportunities to the local community to utilise the power
of ICT.
• engage in a process of continuous self review to ensure retention
of state of the art ICT facilities.
• create an atmosphere of learning across
LEA boundaries.
• to enhance opportunities in disadvantaged areas.
• improve access to, and use of, the latest education technology by pupils and adults.
• improve employment prospects.
• be a well respected partner to business.
• establish virtual communities to
further enhance learning.
• develop a range of specialist activities through the utilisation of the high quality facilities
to support learning partners across the London Borough of Newham.
